We are a cutting-edge immersive design company, redefining the boundaries of theatrical and museum experiences. Our work often transports audiences into new realms, offering experiences that challenge perceptions, provoke emotions, and leave lasting impressions.

HISTORY:

 

OPTIKA MODERNA was founded in 2017 by visionary theater designer, David I. Reynoso (Punchdrunk’s Sleep No More and The Burnt City, costume design).

 

Our first theatrical production, Waking La Llorona (2017) received widespread acclaim for its groundbreaking approach to immersive storytelling. Since then, OPTIKA MODERNA has continued to push the boundaries of the genre, captivating audiences with experiences such as: Las Quinceañeras (2019), Portaleza (2020), Optika Piñata (2021), and Teatro Piñata (2021). Our most recent production, the critically lauded,  La Lucha (2023) was made possible by a collaboration between La Jolla Playhouse and Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego.
