DR. NATE: I think it's a universal application... but, I think that a big part of this is that people don’t get the opportunity to know the whole person because they’re automatically judging and basing their interactions on just one facet of that identity. If you’re a Christian baker who is going to deny a gay couple making a cake for their wedding, then you’ve already judged that entire person or that couple based just on that part of their identity. It’s unfortunate but I think if you ask anyone they’re going to say "know me who I am entirely". Yeah we all have some negative aspects about us, we all make mistakes and trip up, but I think in general people are good people.
